Warm greetings to all our friends and relatives.
To those of you we haven't yet met, we'd like to introduce ourselves; we're Anna's parents Ray and Marj. and we're very much looking forward to meeting you all on August 26th.
We live in North Wales close to the border, and Chester is only twelve miles away. Our cottage where we have lived for seventeen years is on the outskirts of the village of Treuddyn. The Welsh culture and language are important in the village and there are both Welsh speaking and English speaking primary schools.
Anna and Andy are not being married at Treuddyn church however simply because the church (more...) in Hope which is approximately four miles away has played a more pivotal role in our lives; I grew up in Hope, Ray and I were married at the church and myself, Anna and Gareth were christened there. My parents are buried there and I teach at the High School so you can imagine how grateful we were to the Reverend Snellgrove for agreeing to marry Anna and Andy.
As it's the Easter holidays we've been able to devote some time to the wedding arrangements and already we've reason to be grateful to a number of people for their help and support. Our thanks to Mike (Anna's godmother's (Jen) husband) for designing this website which I'm sure as the weeks go on is going to prove invaluable in providing information and entertainment! Also Jean ( another of Anna's godmothers who is a Music Adviser and conductress of the Sirenians) for her time spent advising and guiding us on the music for the wedding. Andy's nanna and Auntie Karen have been busy creating the wedding cake and Gareth (Anna's brother) generously gave up his time to accompany us to the Tatton Park Wedding Fayre. He was there to lend moral support to Andy who was looking at suits for the groom but as a result of oogling (sorry observing) the models in the fashion show can now advise brides to be on the wide range of langerie that there is available to them!
Watch this space where I hope to share with you some of the highs (I hope there won't be any lows) before the big day. I'll also try to put on some photographs of the people I mention. Speak to you soon.
Marj.
